Surrey hosts Holiday House Tour fundraiser
On Friday, December 6, 2024 The Surrey Holiday House Tour of Five beautiful Main Line homes, styled for the holidays, were opened to ticketed guests. Designers, florists, and homeowners collaborated to create inspirational interiors that maximize the beauty of these homes during the holidays. Tour tickets included a gift bag filled with fun accessories, foods, and gift certificates donated by local businesses as well as boxed lunches from The Classic Diner, Malvern and Aneu, Berwyn. “The five inspirational homes on the 2024 tour show the incredible power of creativity, beautiful materials, excellent purveyors, and skilled craftspeople to create spaces that reflect the homeowners’ personality and interests,” says Eddie Ross, volunteer chair and Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Maximalist Studios. Eddie brings more than 20 years of experience creating content across diverse media as a producer and style editor for House Beautiful, Martha Stewart Living and Food Network. “Festive holiday decor adds another layer of beauty and fun to these already amazing homes,” Ross adds. The Surrey Holiday Shops and Designer Wreaths guests found something for everyone on their shopping list at the Surrey Holiday Shops in St. Davids Church Hall. Twenty-five local shops will offer home accents, candles, clothing and accessories, toys, foods and beverages, books, holiday decor and greens, spices, and even gifts for furry family members. Eddie Ross had vintage holiday and hosting items at his shop – Edgewood Haul. New this year was a designer wreath fundraiser. In a wonderful expression of giving back by using their talents, top local designers have volunteered to style faux wreaths that will be sold at the Shops. “I am really excited to see the creativity and materials used for the wreaths,” says Ross. “Some are being donated by individuals, some are the work of teams—all are going to be stunning and unique,” he adds. All proceeds from these one-of-a-kind items will be donated to Surrey’s essential services and programs. Shoppers also can elect to purchase a wreath that will be delivered to an older adult in need. “This is truly a neighbor helping neighbor event,” says Jill Whitcomb, Surrey President and CEO. “From the homeowners who have generously opened their homes, to the sponsors, in-kind donors, and amazing volunteers—so many people have come together to help raise funds that will benefit older adults in need.” About Surrey Surrey inspires and enables all of us, as we age, to live with independence and dignity, and as engaged members of the community.
